A Seminar on "The Development of Andhra Pradesh 1956-2001 A Study of Regional Disparities' was organised on 13th December 2001. Late KV Raghunadha Reddy inaugurated the function. More than 100 Intellectuals including 30 Professors attended the seminar. Later on a book was published on the same caption in May 2002. YV Krishna Rao, Director NRR Research Centre and Prof S Subrahmanyam, Centre for Economic and Social Studies, Hyderabad jointly edited the book.
A Seminar on "Global Resistance against Capitalist Globalisation" was held on 9th August 2002 in the Indrajit Gupta Hall, NRR Research Centre. Prof D. Narasimha Reddy presided over the f unction. Prof Rama Malkote, Prof. N Kodandaram, Prof G Krishna Reddy, Prof K Chakradhar Rao, Sri VR Karumanchi and the Director of NRR Research Centre have presented their papers. These papers along with Prof. Prabhat Patnaik's contributed article on Globalisation and the emerging global politics were brought out as a separate volume under the caption "Corporate Globalisation and People's alternative.
A Seminar on "World Economics Crisis and Prospects for Its Revival' was held on 27th October 2002 in the Indrajit Gupta Seminar Hall, NRR Research Centre. Prof. B Satyanarayana, Depart of Economics, Osmania University; Dr. Bopanna Nagarjuna, Department of Economics, University of Hyderabad and the Director of NRR Research Centre have presented their papers.
A Seminar on "Krishna-Godavari Water dispute and the options open to Andhra Pradesh" was held in the Indrajit Gupta Hall on 6th April 2003. Com. Dasari Nagabhushana Rao, President CR Foundation presided over the inaugural session. Several prominent personalities like Dr. MV. Mysoora Reddy, MLA Congress leader, S. Sudhakara Reddy, Secretary AP Council, CPI; K Satyanarayana, Polit Bureau, member of CPI (M); G Diwakar, New Democracy, Rythu Sangh leaders; Com Kolli Nageswara Rao, Com. K Rama Krishna and prominent engineers like T. Hanumantha Rao, BE., FIE Consultant UNDP, Chelukuri Veeraiah, B.E., Irrigation consultant to Andhra Pradesh government, and others prominent personalities have participated and contributed papers to the seminar.
.A Seminar was organised on "Inter-imperialist Contradiction: Implications for the peace and progress forces' on 25th May 2003 at NRR Research Centre. Sri YV Krishna Rao, Director NRR Research Centre presided over the function Prof. ML Kantha Rao delivered the keynote address. Prof. M Kondandaram, Political Science Department, Osmania University, Prof. Ganta
Chakrapani, Sociology Department. Dr. BR Ambedkar Open University and Sri K Venkateswara Rao, Member Board of Management NRRRC delivered their lectures and discussed comprehensively the implications for the peace and progress forces.
A Seminar was organised on 28th September 2003 on "Gramscian Political and Philosophical Thoughts' in the Indrajit Gupta Seminar Hall. Sri AB Bardhan, General Secretary, CPI Honorary President, CR Foundation presided over the function. Com. A Seminar on "Chinese Path of Development and Socialist Market' was held on 11th October 2003 (Saturday) at 9:00 am to 12:00 pm at Indrajit Gupta Hall, NRR Research Centre. Dr. BV. Vijaya Lakshmi, member, Board of Management, NRR Research Centre presided over the function. Sri E Nageseswara Rao, Editor Visalaandhra, Vijayawada; Dr. Y Radha Krishna Murthy, MP, Sri N Venugopal and Sri YV Krishna Rao, Director, NRR Research Centre presented their papers.
A Seminar on "Mandalikalu - Bhasha. Sahitva Vikasam' was organized on 26th October 2003 in Indrajit Gupta Hall, NRR Research Centre. Acharya Ketu Vishwanatha Reddy presided over the inaugural session. Com. YV Krishna Rao, Director NRR Research Centre welcomed all the Prominent Personalities with his welcome address. Acharya KK Ranganadhacharyulu, Dr K Srinivas and Dr. AK Prabhakar presented their papers. Other dignitaries and personalities also contributed to the seminar by their participation.
A Seminar on "Present Day Imperialism' was held in Indrajit Gupta Hall, NRR Research Centre. Renowned Economist Prof Prabhat Patnaik, Centre for Economic Studies and Planning, School of Social Sciences, JNU, New Delhi delivered his lecture on Imperialism with substances and examples. Many academics, dignitaries and prominent personalities attended
the seminar.
A Seminar on "Present-day Political Situation - Role of the Left Parties' was held in Indrajit Gupta Hall, NRR Research Centre, on 20th June 2004. Prof. SG Kulkarni presided over the inaugural session. Several prominent personalities like Dr. Y Radha Krishna Murthy, Prof. G Krishna Reddy, Prof. K Chakradha Rao, Com. E Nageswara Rao and Sri Rama Chandra Reddy presented their papers. Other dignitaries also participated and contributed papers to the seminar. The Seminar focused the role of Left Parties in the context of changing power equation in Political Sphere.
A Panel Discussion was organised on "2004-05 Central Budget' on July 11, 2004 at Indrajit Gupta Hall, I\JRR Research Centre. The Panel consisted Sri BPR Vithal, Prof. CH Hanumantha Rao, S Sudhakara Reddy, MP, Prof. ML Kantha Rao, Prof G Omkarnath and Sri YV Krishna Rao,
Director NRR Research Centre. All the academics and dignitaries discussed the central budget critically on all directions.
A Seminar on "Neo-liberal Globalisation: Critique and Alternatives' was held on 22nd August 2004 at Indrajit Gupta Hall, NRR Research Centre. Sri YV Krishna Rao, Director NRR Research Centre welcomed the dignitaries and academics with his outstanding welcome speech. Dr V Lalitha, Coordinator, Gender Problems chaired the Morning Session of the seminar. Prof. Prabhat Patnaik, JNU, New Delhi delivered the keynote address. Com. AB Bardhan, General Secretary CPI also addressed the seminar with his intellectual inputs. Prof. Prabhat Patnaik was felicitated in that occasion. Sri K Ashok Rao, president, National Confederation of PSU Officers Associations; Chaired the Afternoon Session. Dr C. Ramamanohar Reddy, The Hindu; Prof. Javed Alam, (CIEFL, Hyderabad); Prof. D. Narasimha Reddy, Prof. Department of Economics, HCU; Sri Vijay Kumar, Deputy General Manager, BHEL, Hyderabad; and Prof. K Chakradhar Rao, Department of Economics, Osmania University; presented their papers. Prof. Jayati Ghosh, JNU, New Delhi delivered the keynote address. Prof. Kalpana Kannabiran, NALSAR University, President Asmita Resource Centre for Women, Hyderabad, Prof. V. Ramakrishna, visiting professor, NALSAR University and Dr. E. Revati, Centre for Economic and Social Studies, Hyderabad, delivered their speech in the morning session. In the afternoon session Dr. Andamma, Associate Professor, Department of Telugu, Osmania University presided the session. Dr. Jamuna, Director, Gramya Research for Women, Hyderabad; Dr. Veena Shatrugna, Director, National Institute of Nutrition, Hyderabad; Ms. Manjari, Journalist, Hyderabad; MS Pasya Padma, General Secretary AP Mahila Samakhya; Dr. V. Lalitha, Dr. BV Vijaya Laxmi, Member Board of Management; and Dr Sudha Rani, Associate Prof. Dr. BR Ambedkar Open University; presented their papers.
A Seminar was organised on "India-America Defense Pact' on 16th July 2005 at Indrajit Gupta Hall, NRR Research Centre. After the welcome speech by the Director, the seminar was presided by Padmabhushan Prof. CH Hanumantha Rao, Chairman CESS; Prof G. Haragopal, Dean School of Social Sciences, Hyderabad Central University; Prof K Chakradhara Rao, Osmania University (Retd.) and YV Krishna Rao, Director, NRR Research Centre delivered their valuable lectures and elaborately discussed the changing International Scenario in the context of India America Defense Pact.
A Round Table conference on "Inter Imperialistic Contradictions and Implications for Peace and Progressive Forces" was organised by this Research Centre, on 15th May 2003, which was held at Makhdoom Bhavan. Prof. ML Kantha Rao presented the keynote paper.
A Seminar on "Retrospect and Prospect of States Finances' was held in the Indrajit Gupta Seminar hall on 29th January 2005. In the Morning Session Sri YV Krishna Rao presided over the function. VR Karumanchi, Member Board of Management welcomed the session; Prof. B Satyanarayana, Chairman State Finance Commission inaugurated the seminar, Dr JVM Sarma, Economic Advisor, 12th Finance Commission. Prof of Economics Department, Hyderabad Central University, presented the keynote paper; after the tea Break Prof ML Kantha Rao; Sri Valluri Narayana, Secretary, (Retd.) Maharashtra Finance Department, YV Krishna Rao, Director NRR Research Centre presented their papers. In the Evening Session Prof. S. Mahendra Dev, Director - CESS presided over the seminar; Prof S Mahendra Dev & Prof N. Sridevi, Centre for Economic and Social Studies presented their Papers. Sri K Rosayya, Hon'ble Minister for Finance, Government of Andhra Pradesh delivered his valedictory address. Prot. Omkarnath, Department of Economics Hyderabad Central University presented the Vote of Thanks.
A "Kavita Gosthi' was organised on 9th April 2005 on Telugu Ugadi Day at NRR Research Centre. The Centre also observed 11th Death Anniversary of Chandra Rajeswara Rao on whose name the foundation was established. The Research Centre has been celebrating the death anniversary since 2002. Sri Jwala Mukhi presided over the function. Dr. Muktevi Bharati, Dr. N Nirmala, N Koteswara Rao, Nikhileswar, Nimbo, Saleem, N Shankaram, Prof SV Satyanarayana, Dr. R Sudarshnam and K. Koteswaramma participated and contributed "Kavitas" on the occasion.
